Founder, Duncan McFie discovered that many friends were coming to his house to collect rainwater from his tank because the town water tasted so bad. Duncan launched Cloud Juice in 1997 and his big break came in 1999 when the Colette Water Bar in Paris decided to stock the water. Word spread and led to a place on the menu at the legendary El Bulli Restaurant, voted The World’s Best Restaurant a record five times.
Duncan is also founding member of the Fine Water Society, a global forum helping to spread the message that “water is not just water”, but a natural product with terroir and unique characteristics.
When Duncan isn’t busy bottling his precious rainwater, he’s a music teacher at King Island District High School, a Councillor and former Mayor of King Island; and as if that wasn’t enough, he’s just built his own house!
